Local Offer
The Local Offer is the Local Authority’s information about what support is available locally to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and disabilities. It is available through https://www.glosfamiliesdirectory.org.uk/kb5/gloucs/glosfamilies/family.page?familychannel=2_1
The section on Early Years Education and Child-care may be particularly useful to parents of young children. It links families to the Gloucestershire Early Years service with detailed information for parents available at https://www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/early-years-service/information-for-parents/. Here, parents can find out about the Graduated approach and services such as Speech and Language support.
The health visiting service is available to all families until a child starts school and can provide advice on feeding, behaviour, and continence, as well as discussing child development. They provide drop-in sessions where parents can meet with a health visitor in an informal setting, and are also available for phone consultations or home visit.
